Student Complaint: “It’s Not Fair! The Learner’s Stage used to be shorter.”
ICBC increased the amount of time a new driver must have their L for before going for their road test. The reasoning? It’s simple: it gives you more time to practice and familiarize yourself with the different types of driving conditions. We have all four seasons here. Which means, you will need to feel comfortable when driving in the dark, in the rain, in snow, and in fog. In each of these conditions, your visibility is affected as well as how your vehicle responds. It’s a good idea to spread out your learning over the year to experience these different conditions.
