Sweep across both rear corners
The demonstration starts over the left shoulder toward the left-rear corner, then turns toward the right-rear corner. Turn far enough to inspect the areas around the car, rather than performing a token head movement.
Make the check the last preparation before moving
The sequence is signal, gear if needed, steering setup, then clearance. Do the 360 check immediately before releasing the brake; once reversing starts, direct attention through the rear window and keep checking as needed.
