First example: already beyond a safe stopping point

The driver assesses the stopping decision before reaching the light. In the first example, yellow appears when the vehicle is already too close for a safe stop, so the driver continues through without attempting an abrupt stop.

Second example: stop even though the car ahead continues

At the next light, this vehicle is still far enough back to stop safely. The car ahead continues because its position differs. Make your own stop-or-go judgment using your speed, available distance, and conditions rather than copying the vehicle in front.
