ICBC B12 Three-Point Turn Examples

Follow several three-point-turn demonstrations and compare their clear signals and checks with an unsignalled manoeuvre.

Video breakdown

Study the lesson by section

Each section below follows an explanation or demonstration in the video. Select a section to play from that point, then practise the skill with appropriate supervision.

0:03

Pull over and prepare the first forward movement

Signal right, check mirrors and the right blind spot, and stop parallel at the roadside. For the first swing, signal left, prepare the steering, check left, and stop short of the opposite curb.

0:45

Reverse only far enough to complete the turn

Signal the reverse-stage intention, select reverse, prepare the steering, and do a fresh 360 check. Back only until there is enough room to move forward, then select drive, signal left, and confirm clearance again.

1:13

Apply the sequence at each new location

The next demonstrations repeat the method in different roadside positions. Avoid driveways and curbs, keep each check current, and remember that nearby traffic can change while the manoeuvre is in progress.

2:35

Compare the confusing unsignalled example

The contrasting driver suddenly turns and reverses without communicating. The final replay returns to the complete sequence, showing how clear signals and a check before each movement make the manoeuvre understandable to others.
