Video breakdown

Study the lesson by section

Each section below follows an explanation or demonstration in the video. Select a section to play from that point, then practise the skill with appropriate supervision.

0:10

Recognize the sign and slow before entry

The video identifies the playground symbol with a posted 30 km/h limit. Reach the required speed before entering the signed zone, then remain within it until the zone ends rather than accelerating early.

0:51

Understand the operating hours

A posted 30 km/h playground zone applies every day from dawn to dusk. Read any applicable signs and keep watching for children throughout the zone, including when the playground looks quiet.

0:58

Separate a warning sign from a posted speed zone

A playground warning without the speed tab warns of nearby activity; it does not itself create the illustrated 30 km/h zone. Follow the road's actual limit and choose a lower speed whenever visibility, children, or conditions require it.
